How to get here
Getting to Waiheke Island is easy, whether you're travelling on foot or bringing your car. Regular passenger ferries run from Auckland’s downtown ferry terminal (Queen’s Wharf) — you can book with Fullers360 or Island Direct.
If you’re bringing your vehicle, SeaLink offers car ferry services from Half Moon Bay and Auckland CBD (Hamer Street).
Once on the island, getting around is simple. Take a local bus, or book a taxi through Kiwi Connect (021 492 016) or Waicabs (027 924 2227).
World Class Beaches
Waiheke’s natural beauty is hard to beat. From sheltered bays perfect for swimming & paddle boarding, to windswept coastal tracks with panoramic views, Waiheke was made for outdoor exploration. Pack a picnic, follow the trails, or simply soak up the sun on one of many pristine beaches.
A few of our favourite Waiheke Beaches include:
Palm Beach - a beautifully sheltered soft sand beach, Palm Beach features a comfortably slight gradient allowing one to find their ideal 'wading depth' out into the waters of Mawhitipana Bay. This local favourite also features the Island's official "clothing optional" spot, 'Little Palm', beyond the rocks on the western end.

Onetangi Beach (Weeping Sands) - Waiheke's longest beach at 2 kilometers long & featuring a stunningly expansive northern outlook. Onetangi Beach is a 'must-see' when visiting Waiheke & has several overlooking Restaurants/eateries for your enjoyment.

Oneroa Beach - directly underneath Waiheke's retail & hospitality hub, Oneroa Beach is abundant in natural beauty, as well being an actively popular spot for boats &/or maritime leisure activities.

The Oneroa village shops have got plenty of souvenirs to remember your Heke-Time by, & dont miss the local Ostend Market on a Saturday morning.
